RRSPs by Career Stage: Early, Peak & Pre-Retirement
Thursday, November 19
7:00pm - 8:00pm
Online
Zoom BusinessFrom early career to pre-retirement, learn how your career stage changes the rules for RRSPs. Discover smart tax strategies to build wealth and avoid costly mistakes at every step.
The right RRSP strategy depends on where you are in your career. Someone early in their career earning $45,000 has different needs from a professional in their peak earning years, or from someone getting ready to turn savings into retirement income. Using the same approach at every stage can mean paying more tax than you need to.
In this practical session, you'll learn how to adjust your RRSP strategy at each stage:
- Early career: why a TFSA or FHSA may make more sense first, and how you can contribute to an RRSP now but save the deduction for a year when your income is higher
- Peak earning years: how to get the most value from your deduction, and how putting your tax refund into a TFSA can help your savings grow faster
- Pre-retirement: how to plan withdrawals before your RRSP converts to a RRIF, so you can avoid large taxable withdrawals and Old Age Security (OAS) clawbacks later
- Skip the rush before the RRSP deadline and leave with a clear plan for every stage of your retirement savings.
This session is educational and does not provide personalized financial advice.
