Generic advice doesn't get jobs, specific strategies do. Whether you are a newcomer or student looking to secure a survival job for immediate income, a recent graduate launching your professional journey, or a career changer pivoting transferable skills into a high-demand industry, the YQR Hire Me Series is built for you.
Join us for a hyper-local session designed to clear the path between applying and hiring in Regina. We move beyond generic templates to unpack the specific application channels, local hiring practices, and manager expectations across our city's major employment sectors. From entry-level survival jobs to credential-driven career paths, each workshop equips you with a practical toolkit for your resume, your interviews, and your long-term workplace integration.
Securing a position at SaskTel typically means navigating a volume-driven hiring cycle common to larger telecommunications employers: applying under a unionized structure, tailoring your resume for both service resolution and value-added solutions, completing any pre-screening assessments the employer uses, and performing well in a structured behavioural interview. This session is your role-by-role guide to navigating that process at SaskTel specifically, focused entirely on entry-level customer service and administrative opportunities. We'll cover how to target key entry points including Contact Centre/Customer Service Associate roles, retail store sales associate positions, and back-office clerical or dispatch support, how to build a resume that showcases system navigation, technical problem-solving, and consultative communication, what to generally expect from pre-employment skills assessments, and how to structure high-scoring STAR responses for the interview.
This workshop is designed specifically for newcomers with strong communication and digital skills seeking a professional entry point, recent graduates in business, communications, or IT, and career changers from retail, hospitality, or telecom backgrounds ready to explore a unionized workplace with potential for internal mobility.
Our focus here is career pathways at SaskTel specifically. If telecommunications isn't the best fit for your background or interests, explore our companion workshops in the YQR Hire Me Series covering SGI, SaskPower, and our combined session for SaskEnergy, SLGA, and WCB. You are welcome to attend any single session or explore all the pathways that align with your goals.
Please note: this session offers general career-coaching guidance for applying to SaskTel and similar structured employers. Exact job titles, union representation details, screening steps, and interview format can change — we recommend confirming current details directly through SaskTel's official careers page, Unifor, or a recruiter.
