Landing SaskPower Admin & Customer Service Roles
Part of YQR Hire-Me Series

Zoom BusinessLearn practical strategies for SaskPower admin and customer service roles. This session covers strategic resume alignment, pre-employment assessments, and STAR-method interview techniques.
Generic advice doesn't get jobs, specific strategies do. Whether you are a newcomer or student looking to secure a survival job for immediate income, a recent graduate launching your professional journey, or a career changer pivoting transferable skills into a high-demand industry, the YQR Hire Me Series is built for you.
Join us for a hyper-local session designed to clear the path between applying and hiring in Regina. We move beyond generic templates to unpack the specific application channels, local hiring practices, and manager expectations across our city's major employment sectors. From entry-level survival jobs to credential-driven career paths, each workshop equips you with a practical toolkit for your resume, your interviews, and your long-term workplace integration.
Securing an administrative or customer-facing role at SaskPower means understanding how Saskatchewan's primary electrical utility operates: high-volume public service, structured hiring cycles, and a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. In a complex utility environment, entry-level opportunities often emerge through customer care intakes, regional district clerical support, and project-based term assignments — roles that can serve as valuable launchpads into a long-term career with the organization.
We'll take a practical, tactical approach to help you prepare for front-line customer inquiry, billing support, and departmental office administration roles at SaskPower. Together we'll work on aligning your resume with the kinds of competencies utilities typically value — clear communication under pressure (including during service disruptions or outages), comfort with dispatch or case-management software, and strong attention to safety and procedural accuracy. We'll also cover general best practices for pre-employment assessments and how to deliver structured, high-scoring STAR responses in a formal behavioural interview.
This workshop is designed specifically for newcomers with administrative, technical, or customer support backgrounds seeking public sector entry points with a path toward permanent roles, recent graduates in business administration, communications, or public policy, and career changers from retail, hospitality, or billing offices ready to explore opportunities with a provincial utility.
Our focus here is entry-level career pathways at SaskPower specifically. If electric utility operations or billing support isn't the best fit for your background or interests, explore our companion workshops in the YQR Hire Me Series covering SGI, SaskTel, and our combined session for SaskEnergy, SLGA, and WCB. You are welcome to attend any single session or explore all the pathways that align with your career goals.
Please note: this session offers general career-coaching guidance for applying to SaskPower and similar utility employers. We recommend confirming current hiring steps, required software, and interview format directly through SaskPower's official careers page or a recruiter, as processes can change.
