Generic advice doesn't get jobs, specific strategies do. Whether you are a newcomer or student looking to secure a survival job for immediate income, a recent graduate launching your professional journey, or a career changer pivoting transferable skills into a high-demand industry, the YQR Hire Me Series is built for you.

Join us for a hyper-local session designed to clear the path between applying and hiring in Regina. We move beyond generic templates to unpack the specific application channels, local hiring practices, and manager expectations across our city's major employment sectors. From entry-level survival jobs to credential-driven career paths, each workshop equips you with a practical toolkit for your resume, your interviews, and your long-term workplace integration.

Securing a role with specialized public employers like SaskEnergy, SaskGaming (Casino Regina), and the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) starts with understanding how public sector career pathways commonly work. In many structured public agencies, career growth advances through internal progression, and casual call-in rosters, seasonal relief pools, and term assignments are often effective stepping stones toward longer-term roles. This combined session is your tactical guide to exploring administrative, hospitality, and customer support pathways across all three organizations. We'll look at entry roles across three core functional streams: utility customer contact and dispatch at SaskEnergy, guest services and gaming operations at SaskGaming, and high-volume claims administration and records indexing at WCB. You'll learn how to build effective resumes that emphasize cash handling integrity, data accuracy, and conflict de-escalation, how to leverage casual and term assignments to build relevant organizational experience, and general strategies for performing well in structured, behavioural-style interviews common to public agency hiring.

This workshop is designed specifically for newcomers with administrative, financial, or hospitality credentials seeking entry into the public sector, recent post-secondary graduates in business administration, public policy, or office management, and career changers from banking, retail, medical office reception, or hospitality environments ready to explore public agency roles with potential for long-term growth.

Our focus here is entry-level career pathways across SaskEnergy, SaskGaming, and WCB specifically. If utility billing, gaming and guest services, or injury claims administration isn't the best fit for your background or interests, explore our companion workshops in the YQR Hire Me Series covering SGI, SaskTel, and SaskPower. You are welcome to attend any single session or explore all the pathways that align with your career goals.

Please note: this session offers general career-coaching guidance for applying to SaskEnergy, SaskGaming, WCB, and similar employers. Exact job titles, screening steps, and interview format vary by organization and can change — we recommend confirming current details directly through each employer's official careers page or a recruiter.
