Generic advice doesn't get jobs, specific strategies do. Whether you are a newcomer or student looking to secure a survival job for immediate income, a recent graduate launching your professional journey, or a career changer pivoting transferable skills into a high-demand industry, the YQR Hire Me Series is built for you.

Join us for a hyper-local session designed to clear the path between applying and hiring in Regina. We move beyond generic templates to unpack the specific application channels, local hiring practices, and manager expectations across our city's major employment sectors. From entry-level survival jobs to credential-driven career paths, each workshop equips you with a practical toolkit for your resume, your interviews, and your long-term workplace integration.

Regina's security sector offers some of the most accessible and strategically valuable employment opportunities in the city — spanning prestigious government and institutional contracts, high-intensity healthcare environments, and specialized armed logistics operations. Most applicants miss out not because they lack the presence or discipline, but because they are unaware of the mandatory provincial licensing requirements that must be in place before any employer can put them on a site, apply to security employers with a one-size-fits-all resume that fails to reflect the very different cultures and expectations across each employer category, or overlook the direct career pathways that connect Regina's security sector to the Regina Police Service, RCMP, Corrections Canada, and the Canada Border Services Agency.

This session is designed specifically for newcomers and students seeking accessible entry-level security roles for immediate income, individuals with backgrounds in military service, law enforcement, or high-stress customer service who want to understand how their experience applies to Regina's security market, and career changers who want to use security work as a deliberate and structured stepping stone toward a long-term public safety career.

Security Jobs in Regina — Who's Hiring, What They Expect, and How to Get In
This session maps Regina's security employment landscape across its three dominant employers — Commissionaires South Saskatchewan, Paladin Security, and GardaWorld — each with a distinct hiring culture, credential threshold, and career trajectory. We cover the mandatory provincial licensing requirements that apply to every security role in Saskatchewan, the additional credentials and application strategies specific to each employer, the resume and interview approach that matches what each organization is actually screening for, and the long-term public safety career pipelines that make strategic entry into this sector one of the most valuable career moves available to job seekers in Regina today.
