Part of the Writes of Spring programming series.

This is an in-person program.  Register to receive a reminder and any other resources.

Plan to attend all sessions.

Dates: April 9, 16, 23, 30

This workshop involves four weekly in-person sessions that help you identify the core of your story, work it out and tell it in writing.

This is not about writing a memoir. We want to hone in on one life-shifting thread in your story — an experience that gave you a new perspective, a kindness you can't forget or a challenge you pushed through.

We'll have small writing challenges to help you build your story week by week and give you personal feedback. We'll talk about where to begin, how to use key anecdotes and how to use a splash of colour to make your story come alive.

Don't worry if your English isn't perfect. We're there to support you. By the end, you should have a rough draft you're proud of and, if you like, you can pitch it to CBC Saskatchewan as a freelance contributor to our First Person series.

Presenter Information: Janani Whitfield is a Community Engagement Producer with CBC Saskatchewan, a writer and journalist for nearly 20 years.
