This presentation outlines the following core services available to all Saskatchewan residents:
One-on-One Business Advising & Startup Assistance: This is the cornerstone of their offering. Entrepreneurs can book free, personalized appointments with business advisors for guidance on a vast array of topics, including general startup processes, business registration, licensing, tax account setup, and understanding employer obligations. Advisors provide clarity and help navigate the often-complex initial steps of launching a business.
Expert Mentorship and Specialized Referrals: Beyond general advice, the institute connects entrepreneurs with a network of specialized industry professionals through its "Ask an Expert" program. For a nominal fee ($25 + GST per session), entrepreneurs can get introductory consultations with experts in fields such as accounting, legal affairs, marketing, business strategy, and commercial realty. This provides access to critical, tailored support that would otherwise be costly and difficult to find.
Market Research Support: A highlighted service is the provision of critical market research mentorship and support. The institute helps entrepreneurs understand their target market, analyze competition, and validate their business idea, which is crucial for developing a solid business plan and securing funding.
Funding and Financial Guidance: A significant portion of the presentation is dedicated to demystifying business financing. Advisors help entrepreneurs identify and access potential financial resources, including grants, loans, and other funding opportunities tailored to their specific industry and stage of development.
Educational Resources and Workshops: The institute offers a wealth of self-serve resources and an ongoing calendar of webinars and educational seminars on various business topics. These resources are designed to build knowledge on essential skills, from business planning to digital marketing, at no cost to the participant.
