Ages 5 to 9. Children will enjoy one-on-one time with a RPL volunteer. Together, they will read stories and play interactive literacy-based games to grow the love of reading.
Volunteers provide one-on-one interactive support for young readers. Ideally, children will be paired with the same Big Buddy for the duration of the program. Reading Buddies foster positive social interactions, share books, practice writing and reading comprehension and play interactive literacy-based games.
Sessions are 1 hour per week, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, for 6 weeks on Thursdays:
October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2 and 9
Parents are required to remain in the Library branch for the duration of the program.
