This is an in-person program. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

Dates: The program runs Fridays, October 6,13,20, and 27 from 1:30 PM-3:30 PM. Please plan to attend all sessions.

You will learn the basic essay forms and revision and editing techniques, gain critical-thinking skills and participate in grammar reviews. The materials in the course will help develop and refine your communication and writing skills. You will learn how to generate ideas, focus those ideas by topic narrowing, and develop ideas from prewriting to completing essay questions. You will also learn about the various writing modes. In addition, you will learn how to achieve better organization and clarification of ideas and produce papers free of grammatical and mechanical errors. The skills you will learn in this course will help you in academic and professional environments. Writing for IELTS is a lower-level advanced writing course that will take you from paragraph to essay. Even though the writing workshop is for English as a second language students, the content is helpful to anyone working in English.
