Join us for an exciting celebration of entrepreneurship during Small Business Week, a national tribute to the remarkable contributions of entrepreneurs to Canada's thriving economy. Regina Public Library (RPL) is thrilled to present an engaging week-long series of events and educational workshops dedicated to supporting and honoring our vibrant local business community. This year, our theme is "Celebrating Emerging Entrepreneurs."

Our kickoff event will be hosted at the Central Library - Film Theatre (lower level) on Sunday, October 15th, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. Immerse yourself in the inspiring stories of four dynamic emerging entrepreneurs who have recently embarked on journeys that transformed them into successful business owners. Whether they pioneered new businesses, including social initiatives, or acquired existing businesses and turned them into thriving ventures, their experiences are bound to captivate and motivate. During this event, our panelists will share their unique and inspirational entrepreneurial stories.

This event is a tribute to our small business community. It's a place where visionary leaders, seasoned entrepreneurs, and industry professionals come together to celebrate, learn, connect, and inspire one another.

Addison Docherty
Addison Docherty was born and raised in Regina, SK. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Regina. Since joining the workforce just under a decade ago, Addison has directed his time and energy into understanding the complexities of community development. He founded a social enterprise called Flow Community Projects where he focuses on supporting individuals, organizations, and communities across the non-profit, private, and public sectors in their efforts to make a positive impact.

Anna Garg, MBA
Anna, originally from India, started her import and export venture in 2017. She quickly became a vital supplier to major retailers, including Hudson Bay, Costco, Simons, and more. In 2020, she collaborated with her husband to gain insights into construction and the home-building process. Subsequently, she acquired a realtor license. In 2022, she ventured further, acquiring Robin's Nest Motel and Restaurant, along with an ESSO Gas station in Manitoba. However, her journey didn't conclude there; she continually seeks knowledge and forge a path towards growth.

Karam Singh
Karam is the founder/director at WOW CARS INC. He has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industries. As the son of an ironworker, and a former taxi driver, he never thought he’d end up as an entrepreneur. In 2019, he immigrated to Canada under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program program (SINP), and amid the pandemic's onset, he launched Wow Cars Inc. Despite formidable challenges, he managed to steer the business from survival to success. His success story is also featured on the SK Start-up Institute’s website.

Jason Tiefenbach
Jason was born and brought up in Regina. He obtained his Red Seal and Blue Seal certification as an electrician as well as an Applied Project Management certification. He has spent 13 years installing electrical systems in some of Regina’s most prestigious commercial buildings, and renovating many homes and offices. In 2022, he started his own electrical service company called Flow Electric Inc. providing electrical services to residential and commercial clients.
