Mother Teresa Middle School is honoring the Calls to Action for Truth and Reconciliation in real and authentic ways. The team is focusing on building positive relationships that acknowledge the brokenness that exists today because of residential schools. One of the ways the team at MTMS is addressing this movement is by helping their students identify with their culture in a positive way through drumming and First Nation Dance. The teachings are done in a manner that helps the students builds a positive identity and confidence in themselves. When the Mother Teresa Middle School students are out in the community performing, they exemplify what a healthy lifestyle embedded in First Nation culture and education looks like.
