Celebrate Earth Day by attending this online workshop to explore why we should mend and how to mend. Learn visible mending techniques that include patches, embroidery, and sashiko. Ages 14+
This is an in-person program. Please register to receive a reminder and any other resources.
Materials: This program comes with a mending kit that can be picked up from the Central Library, 2311 12th Ave., from April 15-April 22.
Please find a fabric item in need of mending to practice these techniques on. Eg. Clothing, blankets, bedding. You will use the items in the mending kit to mend this item.
You are also welcome to use your own mending supplies, different coloured thread or scrap fabric to use with the mending techniques you will learn.

Michelle Closs is a U of A clothing and textiles graduate, who has been creating with textiles her whole life. She is passionate about fashion sustainability and empowering others to find creative solutions to create, maintain, and reimagine their wardrobes.
Reimagined Fabrics is a second hand fabric shop located in Edmonton, AB with a focus on recirculating pre-existing fabrics, notions, sewing tools and hardware.
