Join Saltine Baking for a Savory Pastries workshop where we blend cooking and baking techniques. You'll get a detailed guide on mixing pastry dough and learn how to combine flavors effectively.
This is an in-person program. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
Savory pastries are baked goods with a salty, spicy, or umami flavor profile rather than a sweet one. They are frequently filled or topped with meat, cheese, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Unlike sweet pastries, which are typically made with sugar, fruits, and sweet fillings, savory pastries are intended to be more substantial and are frequently served as appetizers, snacks, or even main courses.
In this program, we'll dive into the fundamentals of mixing pastry dough and how to combine flavors effectively. You'll learn about the health and flavor benefits of whole grains. We'll guide you step-by-step of mixing pastry dough, rolling + shaping pastries and how to create well rounded flavour profiles. We'll wrap up the session by enjoying a variety of freshly baked galettes and scones.!
