Join us for an afternoon of discovery with the Regina Amateur radio association (RARA). An afternoon drop in event to display equipment and have hands on demos of activities. Amateur operators or "Ham's" enjoy talking around the world to other amateurs. It is not uncommon to make contacts in far away locations even on other continents!
RARA operate, morse code, digital and even television signals are transmitted around the world. Amateur radio is important in emergency communications. They are often called on to assist when there is a communication crisis situation.
George Bothwell Branch first opened its doors to the public in 1995, and operates as a full-service branch within the Regina Public Library system.
