Join us for an immersive cultural journey. Experience Sikh culture with this program, which includes talks about beliefs, Kirtan, cooking lessons, and a vegetarian meal!

This is an in-person program. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.

The program will be a 2-hour session, beginning with a PowerPoint presentation by Mr. Gagan Deep Singh on Sikh beliefs and Sikhism perspective on diversity and interfaith. This will be followed by a kritan. Afterward, there will be a short cooking lesson on how to prepare traditional Indian chai (tea), make dough and tortillas, and a recipe for the curry that will be served at the event. The session will conclude with a vegetarian meal served to all attendees.

The Global Neighbour Series warmly welcomes individuals of all faiths and backgrounds and is intended to foster an inclusive and respectful environment of cultural sharing. These programs do not not seek to proselytize but celebrate different cultures with the goal of promoting mutual understanding and appreciation among all our neighbours!

Presenter Information: Mr. Gagan Deep Singh is a professional electrical engineer who obtained his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from India and his Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. While working in India, he was awarded a scholarship and grant from the University of Saskatchewan (through the Professor's NSERC Research Grant), which enabled him to pursue his Master's program in Electrical Engineering. Aside from his professional achievements, Mr. Singh has actively participated in his community. He served as the President of Multifaith Saskatchewan and as the Chair of the Regina Multifaith Forum, where he also served on the boards of these organizations in various capacities for several years. His work in multifaith engagement facilitated educational and awareness opportunities for various faiths, including Sikhism, to promote a peaceful and harmonious society. Mr. Singh also delivered several presentations on Sikhism at local churches, the University of Regina, interfaith events, Sikh Society Regina (Gurdwara), and Sikh Kid’s Camps.
