Presenter Bio: John Skinner has been growing native seed on a contract basis and on the open market since 2000. His contract customers include Grasslands National Park, Viterra, Native Plant Solutions, Brett Young, and Medicine Lake Wildlife Refuge. He has experience growing many different warm season kinds of grass, cool season grasses, and forbs in a large-scale, farm setting. Skinner Native Seeds also has a lot of experience collecting wildflower seeds on the prairie both for sale and to grow for increase. Currently, he is working on a large ecological restoration on a beautiful piece of prairie in west-central Manitoba.
