Evidence-Informed Responses to Opioid-Related Harms in Saskatchewan: Opioid-related poisoning and deaths related to the diversion of prescription opioids to the community and later to illicit fentanyl and its derivates represent a public health emergency. Presenter Bio: Gabriela Novotna, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Regina Faculty of Social Work and a Research Associate with the Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit [SPHERU]. Dr. Novotna’s scholarship in substance misuse and behavioral addiction has benefited from her collaborations internationally and in Canada.
