In this 1-hour workshop, learn from the "master" a.k.a. Kris's mom Susan a.k.a. Lola! She will guide us through an easy approach to wrapping, rolling & cooking "Turon" (a Filipino fruit-filled spring roll typically filled with cooking banana). Lola will adapt the recipe using fruit you can find at the Regina Farmer's Market! In true Pinoy spirit, we've invited a friend - Ling! of Ling Eats and Ling's Tita - to Lola's "merienda" (a Filipino late afternoon snack). We will wrap & roll AND eat while we chat about our experiences with and memories of this Filipino treat.
RPL Film Theatre and Dunlop Art Gallery are proud to offer this program in partnership with Regina Farmer's Market.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Susan Alvarez considers Regina home. In Cebu, her love for art clearly began in her family’s photography studio. The past 40+ years here, Susan nurtures deep connections within her family, her community, her creativity. Susan has a keen eye for beauty in colour, composition & design. Her aesthetic energy fuels various artmaking: jewellery, clothing, purses, music, dance. Later in life, Susan was introduced to painting by her older sister who studied art for many years.
