Coming to Netflix, Firekeeper's Daughter is taking the reading world by storm. The author will join us on June 15!
Program Dates: Tuesdays: June 1, 8, & 15, from 7:00-8:00 pm. Part of RPL's programming in support of National Indigenous History Month.
Additional copies of Firekeeper's Daughter are available for-pick up at Connaught. The first 22 registrants are guaranteed a book for pick-up. We will be discussing this book in sections. Please have Part I (pages 1 - 119) read for the first session on June 1.

Author Bio: Angeline Boulley is an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, is a storyteller who writes about her Ojibwe community in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She is a former Director of the Office of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Angeline lives in southwest Michigan, but her home will always be on Sugar Island. Firekeeper's Daughter is her debut novel, and was an instant #1 NYT Bestseller.

Facilitator Bios:
Mike Megenbir: (he/him) I am an English and Special Education teacher with a love of literature and learning. I am proudly Metis, and am also an openly transgender man. I live in Regina with my wife, 3 dogs, and an overabundance of house plants. When I’m not teaching, I am usually listening to audiobooks and podcasts, playing video and board games, learning new tunes on my ukulele, or (pre-Covid) singing with my friends in the Regina Philharmonic Chorus. I’m excited to be part of this project with the Regina Public Library!
Raylee Perkins: (she/her) I am Teacher-Librarian and have been a collector of stories since as long as I can remember. I live in Regina on Treaty 4 Territory with my kiddo and our many pets. In our spare time, we like to explore the many parks around Regina and look for birds and other wildlife. We also spend a lot of time camping in the summer and exploring all Saskatchewan has to offer. As a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community, I am passionate about collecting and sharing stories from voices that haven't always been heard in the mainstream. With this project, I hope we can share and discuss stories from the perspectives of authors from the BIPOC and LGBTQ community. I can't wait to share stories with you!
Robin Berg: (she/her) As a programmer with RPL, my job is to bring a variety or opportunities to our patrons. Reading has long been a passion of mine. I love to read because it teaches me about the world and it helps me connect to other humans and gain an understanding of their lives and ways of living. Sharing this love of reading is a double pleasure!
