This program aims to unite beaders from all over the world. It’s a safe and open space for sharing culture, ideas, and art. Learn beading techniques and create amulets with artist Audie Murray.

Registrants are welcome to work on their own beading projects. Please register ONLY if you require a materials kit. If you do not require a kit, you are welcome to join from any location using your own materials (Zoom link below). Great for all skill levels. Closed captions available.

Recommended materials: Seed beads (2-3 colours), needle, thread, scissors, small found objects, other interesting beads, and worksheet.

Kits are available for pickup for registrants between April 27-May 4 at Dunlop Art Gallery, Central Library. **PLEASE NOTE: Due to current COVID restrictions, please use Curbside Pick Up at Central Library (2311-12th Avenue) to collect your supply kit for the program. Come to the library and call 306-777-6164. A staff member will deliver the kit to the curbside for you.

Audie Murray is a multi-disciplinary artist who works with various materials including beadwork, quillwork, textiles, repurposed objects, drawing, and media. She is Michif, raised and working in Regina, Saskatchewan, treaty 4 territory. Much of her family and family histories are located in the Qu’Appelle and Meadow Lake regions of Saskatchewan. Audie holds a visual arts diploma from Camosun College, 2016; Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Regina, 2017; and is currently an MFA student at the University of Calgary. Her practice explores themes of contemporary culture and how this relates to experiences of duality and connectivity. Working with specific material choices, she uses found objects from daily life a way to reclaim and work through various subject matter, much of it relating to the body, space, and relationships with a focus on the intersection and expansion of time.
