Learn the basics of recording, creating and manipulating sounds for the purpose of game development. We will be working with audio in mainly Audacity & Reaper with a sample pack of audio recordings.
We'll also be showing some good recording practices and techniques for capturing your own clean recordings with a USB microphone, showing you how to loop audio without noticeable breaks, and briefly covering how to get started with creating music for games.
Please bring a laptop with Audacity (free) as well as Cocos Reaper (the free trial is fine) installed. WiFi is available at the library and the samples will be available for download. A limited number of RPL laptops will be available for those who do not own one.
